Post Pregnancy Weight Loss – How do you want to get fit??

We mentioned in an earlier post how rewarding it can be to lose weight by carrying out fun activities alongside your new baby. While many new mothers are delighted with the chance to do this others prefer to leave the time they spend with their baby as being a peaceful, relaxing time.

A mixture of these two approaches can be the best way for some women to get back in shape and stimulate their post pregnancy weight loss while keeping their exercise regime and their family time a little bit more separate from each other. Provided that you have someone to help look after the little one while you work out then you might like to try out these ideas.

1. Work out with friends. Most people enjoy their exercises more if they do them with some good company. The extra level of motivation and enjoyment which come with having someone beside you can be priceless. If you have a friend who has also recently become a mother and who is also trying to kick start their post pregnancy weight loss then she could be your ideal work out companion. As well as having a common goal you will have so much to talk about that the time flies by and you barely notice the physical exertions.

2. Walking or cycling alone. To some people the thought of working out alone is completely unbearable. Yet, if there is one time in your life when you might feel the need to disconnect from the world and have some time alone it is now. Looking after a new born baby can be a tiring and stressful experience, so the chance to hit the roads alone, with just your own thoughts and maybe a portable music player, can be a wonderful break from the routine and can see you returning to your baby’s side with far more energy and enthusiasm.
