Activities with Your Baby to Promote Post Pregnancy Weight Loss

Once your precious little baby has been born you may find yourself torn between spending every waking minute by their side and heading off the gym or going jogging to lose some of that excess weight. You needn’t worry too much about this choice provided that you put a little thought into how to combine post pregnancy weight loss with activities you both can share.

First off is the idea of walking while pushing the baby’s pram or carrying them in a sling or carry cot. This is a fantastic way to introduce them to the world and give yourself a fairly gentle start to your new exercise regime at the same time.

Another good idea is to combine your daily exercises with your little one. This might sound strange but there is a whole range of pleasant work outs which you can do together. One which is recommended is to put the baby on your shins/knees while you lie on your back with your knees bent. You then raise your upper body until you see the baby’s pretty face. This type of exercise shouldn’t be done until you have asked your doctor if you can start working out your stomach and until the baby can be safely placed on your legs and trusted to lift their heads a little.

If you like cycling then you can get hold of a carrier which will keep your little treasure safe while you get some fresh air and exercise and start your post pregnancy weight loss. This is best done on designated cycling paths, and you should check what safe and fairly flat trails are located near your home.

Alternatively, if you want to stay in the house you can play, dance and have all sorts of imaginative fun with your child to help with your post pregnancy weight loss program. The only limit to the exercises you can do together is your own imagination.
